The Yeshiva Boys Choir also known as (YBC) is a contemporary Jewish religious music boys choir. The choir is conducted by Yossi Newman, and their songs are composed arranged and produced by Eli Gerstner. There are more than 50 children in the group.
Originaly from Cleveland, OH, Yossi Newman (Conductor and choreographer) was a third grade teacher. Yossi chose talented kids from his school choir to audition for the Yeshiva Boys Choir. He contacted his childhood friend from summer camp, Eli Gerstner, who was by then a successful producer, together they gathered the choir and started working on the first album (Kol Hamispallel). The first known members were Elimelech Bialo and Yehuda Laib Saks. The rest came shortly afterwards. They are now based in New York, NY, after Yossi moved from Cleveland, and auditioned new choir members. The first two albums (Kol Hamispallel - 2003), (V'ohavta L'Reacha Komocha - 2005) and YBC Live I (2005) were with the Cleveland choir. Their songs are known to be very catchy with exciting choreography in their music videos and performances.
At one point in time there was a pair of twins in the group, Aaron and Moshe Kogan. Other well-known members in the group are Ariel Altaras, Stu Gutman, Azriel Zylberberg, Yonatan Gabay, Ely Shalom, Tani Martin, Mendal Nebenzhal, Orel Levi, Moshe Weiser, Yehuda Turner, Shua Krasner, Moshe Silver, Yitzy Waldman, Aaron Ellen, Betzalel Rosenwasser, Itsche Muttel Berger, Yitzy Waldman, Ryan Shore, Moishe Kahan, DJ Wartelsky, Ovadya Yaish, Shloimie Gitelis, David Lauer, Elyakim Gelbard, Yitzy Gewirtz and others.
