Chronology

The Wright Eclipse Fusion is a low floor articulated single-decker bus body built by Wrightbus on the Volvo B7LA chassis. The articulated version of the Wright Eclipse, it succeeded the Wright Fusion. A similar product is also bodied by Wrightbus, the Solar Fusion, which has an almost identical external appearance, but is built on the Scania L94UA chassis.

The main customer for the Eclipse Fusion is FirstGroup, which uses numerous examples in its subsidiaries, in Bath, Glasgow, Leeds, and York subsidiaries. In Bath operating on the Orange Line Routes 18/SPA1/SPA2,In Leeds on the Unilink 95. York previously on the Park and Ride Services. The examples used in Southampton were moved to Glasgow after constant speed hump damage. First London uses another vehicle type for articulated routes, the Mercedes-Benz Citaro, in common with other London bus operators. When trailing, two Eclipse Fusions were once used in a red livery.

Later FirstGroup partnered with Wrightbus in developing the Wright StreetCar, which is built on a modified version of the chassis used for the Eclipse Fusion. Most of the Eclipse Fusions are similar in appearance to its Wrightbus single deckers with the arched top.
