Railway Parade, Bassendean
The Western Australian Rail Transport Museum is a property in Bassendean, Western Australia, that is run by the Western Australian division of the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS), Rail Heritage WA.
It has the most comprehensive collection of heritage steam locomotives and rolling stock in Western Australia. Furthermore, it also has a museum and archive that is the largest outside of government archives.
It was originally developed in 1969, and officially opened in November 1974 by the then Western Australian Minister for Transport Ray O'Connor.
At various annual events held by the ARHS (WA) - now Rail Heritage WA, (Steamfest and Railfest) have included active steam and diesel displays
It is also the location of the West Australian Model Railway Club
It has a related museum in Boyanup - the Boyanup Transport Museum.
