The Wembley Cup is an invitational football tournament. The first edition of the tournament took place between 24 and 26 July 2009 at Wembley Stadium, Wembley Park, London, United Kingdom. The winning team was Celtic, ahead of Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur, and Al-Ahly. Each team played two matches, with three points awarded for a win and one point for a draw. Each goal was rewarded with a point and each one conceded saw a point deducted.
In 2015, the Wembley Cup was brought back by YouTuber Spencer Owen and EE. It was shown on Owen's YouTube channel Spencer FC. Owen has taken part in all three Wembley cups, winning each (2015, 2016 and 2017).
Martin Keown was the manager for Spencer F.C. in 2015, 2016 and for Hashtag United F.C. in 2017. Ray Wilkins took charge of Sidemen United in 2015, and Stuart Pearce was the manager of the Weller Wanderers in 2016, and in 2017 he managed the Tekkers Town. Robbie Fowler, Jay-Jay Okocha, Peter Schmeichel, Robert Pires, Patrick Kluivert and Jamie Carragher were the 2016 Wembley Cup Legends. Emile Heskey, David James, Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, William Gallas and Robbie Savage are the 2017 Wembley Cup Legend Players. In the 2017 edition the legends could only be substituted on to the pitch.
