Washington High School is a 9-12 High School in Charles Town, West Virginia, United States. The population growth in the county required a "de-consolidation" in 2007, as the single county high school, formerly known as Jefferson County High School, established in 1973 was renamed simply Jefferson High School, and the county split into two zones, with the eastern half of the county attending the new Washington High School.

The theatre program of Washington High School known formally as, "The Liberty Collective" has been active since early 2017. They have a competitive season that has been in association with the West Virginia's International Thespian Society regional, and state competitions. With performances at the schools ranging from 4-5 plays, and a musical per school year. For the 2017-2018 season, the acting officers of "The Liberty Collective" are: Benjamen Baltzell as President, Trevor Gauckler as Vice President, Samantha Shifflet and Imoné Velez as Co-Historians, Kassidy Kavanaugh as Secretary, and Jordan Brigman and Zach Cabbiness are Co-Press.

The marching band usually consists of 90-120 members, and has a season that lasts from July to late October/early November. The band directors focus on the technique and performance of a marching band while traveling the local area, performing at football games and the occasional marching competition. For the 2017-2018 season, the band is led by drum majors Jackie Arnold, Jackson Stewart, and Luke Sakole.

The concert band begins in early November, after marching band ends its rigorous schedule. This group focuses on grade 3,4, and 5 music. And consistently wins many awards at adjudication under the direction of Lisa Hazlett.

This is an auditioned small group that begins during the end of marching band season. Auditions usually take place during the marching season and results are posted once the season is over. The group plays mostly grade 6 music and frequently records for the annual state festival. The group is conducted by Donald Showen.

The jazz ensemble, led by The Champ, Donald Showen (Donnie), has had overall success since the school opened, as evidenced by frequent Superior and Excellent ratings at jazz festivals. This year, the ensemble received the best score possible at a regional jazz festival, allowing them to possibly perform at the state conference.

The ensemble is based off an audition process held in the March before the next school year.

The ensemble's plays numerous charts, from Gordon Goodwin to Count Basie, diversifying their playing style.
