Walter D. Wetherell


Walter D. Wetherell (born 1948) is an American writer who has published over twenty books of fiction and nonfiction under the name W. D. Wetherell. His most recent books are Summer of the Bass, published in the winter of 2015, and Where Wars Go to Die: the Forgotten Literature of World War One, published in the spring of 2016. He was raised in Garden City, New York, and lives in Lyme, New Hampshire. His short stories have appeared in Kenyon Review, Tri-Quarterly, Massachusetts Review, New England Review, Breadloaf Quarterly, Atlantic, Southern Review, Colorado Quarterly, Michigan Quarterly Review, and Graffiti. He has also written essays and travel pieces for The New York Times, the Boston Review, and other periodicals. Several of his nonfiction books are about rivers and fly fishing.
