WWE Main Event is a professional wrestling television program produced by WWE that originally aired on Ion Television in the United States, then the WWE Network, and is now broadcast on Hulu Plus. It debuted on October 3, 2012 and ended its domestic broadcasting on April 2, 2014. After the final domestic TV broadcast, the show moved to an Internet broadcast format. The show features mid-to-low card WWE Superstars. Because of a conflict with British broadcaster Sky Sports's first-run syndication rights, episodes do not air in first run on WWE Network, but are uploaded 18 days after airing overseas. The show is taped before Raw tapings and is currently a sub-show of the Raw brands.
The show is produced on Monday evenings, right before the Raw airing, and is broadcast on Thursday nights, similar to the system SmackDown's used before it went live on July 19, 2016. It originally aired live, with a slight broadcast delay. It uses the same HD set as Raw with all ring ropes being red to represent the Raw brand, except for the month of October, when the middle rope is pink, to promote WWE and Susan G. Komen for the Cure's breast cancer awareness campaign.
WWE commentator Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton are the broadcast team, and Mike Rome is the ring announcer. From October 3, 2012 to January 22, 2014, "Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom)" by Shinedown served as the official theme for Main Event. Since January 29, 2014, "On My Own" by CFO$ now serves as the theme song. Following the 2016 WWE Draft it was announced that Main Event would feature superstars exclusive to the SmackDown brand, making it the official "B" Show of the brand similar to WWE Velocity.
