Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Kotyonochkin (Russian: Вячеслав Михайлович Котеночкин) (June 20, 1927 – November 20, 2000) was a Soviet animator and director. He was notable for his works The Kitten from the Lizyukov street and Nu, pogodi!. He was awarded the Order of Friendship (May 2, 1996)

Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin was born 20 June 1927 in Moscow. During Great Patriotic War (term) he studied at artillery school.

In 1947 he graduated from courses of animation and began career as animator at Soyuzmultfilm.

He directed more than 80 cartoons and became popular after premier of Nu, pogodi!.

In 1988 V. Kotyonochkin was awarded the USSR State Prize.

In 1999 appearanced his memoirs Nu, Kotyonochkin, pogodi!.

Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin died 20 November 2000 in Moscow and was buried at Vagankovo Cemetery.
