"Voorgoed voorbij" ("Over forever") was the second Dutch entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1956 (the only Contest where competing countries were permitted to enter two songs). The song was written by Jelle de Vries and performed in Dutch by Corry Brokken.
The song is in the chanson style popular in the early years of the Contest. Brokken sings to a former lover, asking him why their relationship is "over for good". She explains that while it may have only been a brief fling to him, she took it more seriously.
The song was performed eighth on the night, following Italy's Franca Raimondi with "Aprite le finestre" and preceding Switzerland's Lys Assia with "Refrain".
The song was accompanied at the 1956 contest by Jetty Paerl with "De vogels van Holland" and was succeeded as Dutch representative at the 1957 contest by Brokken with "Net als toen", the winner that year.
