Vivek Agnihotri is a Bollywood film director, producer and screenwriter. He has worked in genres that include thriller, sports, political drama, erotica and romance Agnihotri made his directorial debut with Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets (2005).

Agnihotri has worked in advertising agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, JWT and has been a founder member of McCann Erickson in India. He then moved to making advertisement films. He has made more than 100 ad films for clients which included Procter & Gamble, Tata's, Godrej, and National Association for Blind. Agnihotri has been founder of Indian private TV programming including Saturday Suspense, X Zone, Rishtey (TV series) and Gubbarey.

In 2014, Agnihotri's film Buddha in a Traffic Jam had its Indian premiere at the Mumbai International Film Festival. Buddha in a Traffic Jam was an official entry in the 7th Global International Film Festival that also awarded Agnihotri and Pallavi Joshi a life achievement award for excellence in cinema. The film will release in 2016. The film is an official entry in the 5th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festivaland received three nominations in Madrid International Film Festival in the Best Foreign Language Film to Agnihotri Agnihotri, Best Original Screenplay of a Foreign Language, again written by Vivek Agnihotri himself and Best Lead Actress in a foreign language to actress Mahi Gill. The film was screened at over 30 film festivals across the globe

Agnihotri is married to anchor, theatre and film actress Pallavi Joshi. They have two children.
