Veneza is a village in the northeastern part of the island of Santiago, Cape Verde. It is mainly a suburb of the town of Calheta de São Miguel and is part of the municipality of São Miguel, it is situated on the Praia-Pedra Badejo-Tarrafal Road (EN1-ST02). Its 2010 population was 1,375. The village is situated north of Ribeira de Ribeireta. It is not often called Veneza da Calheta as there is another Veneza in São Domingos whose common name is Ribeira da Veneza. The other name is also called Baixo Ribeireta.

The place name's etymology, Veneza is the Portuguese name for Venice. Its etymology predominantly relates to the city of Venice, the low lying areas or its stream, Ribeira de Ribeireta which a part relates to the geography of Venice. Being on higher ground, its geography is similar to Venice.

The western portion are hilly are mountainous while the east is not as mountainous. Agriculture remains to be its main economy but other businesses dominates the village as recent housing occurred in the village.

The village center has a newly built rectangular like town square. It is home to Estádio da Calheta which is the municipality's stadium located west of the center, football (soccer) are played there and is operated by the Santiago North Regional Football Association. North of that is the municipality's secondary school and the municipality's health center.
