Varavu Ettana Selavu Pathana (English: If income is eight, expenditure is ten) is a 1994 Tamil drama film directed by V. Sekhar. The film features Nassar and Raadhika in lead roles. The film had musical score by Chandrabose and was released on 6 August 1994. The film performed well at the box office. It was later remade in Telugu as Aasthi Mooredu Aasha Baaredu (1995) and in Kannada as Hendtheer Darbar (2010).
Sivaraman (Nassar), an honest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi (Raadhika), belong to a middle-class family and they have two children. Anja Singam Marudupandi (Goundamani), a corrupted politician, moves into a new house near Sivaraman's house. Marudupandi's life style influences Lakshmi and she tries to ape him by buys luxurious items on instalments. This puts pressure on Shivarama and he takes a loan from his office peon but the police arrests him for corruption. He later finds a job in a brandy company with Marudupandi's recommendation.
The film score and the soundtrack were composed by film composer Chandrabose. The soundtrack, released in 1994, features 5 tracks with lyrics written by Vaali.
