Uttambhai Nathalal Mehta (1923 - 1998) was an Indian businessman, the founder and chairman of Torrent Group.

Mehta was born in Mehmadpur village in Palanpur district, India. He graduated from Bombay's Wilson College.

He started his career as a medical representative for the pharmaceutical company Sandoz in the 1940s.

Mehta and his wife Shardaben, had four children, sons Sudhir and Samir, and daughters Meena and Nayna.
