"My friends on Twitter didn't abandon their beliefs or their principles — only their scorn. They channeled their infinitely justifiable offense and came to me with pointed questions tempered with kindness and humor. They approached me as a human being, and that was more transformative than two full decades of outrage, disdain and violence. I know that some might not have the time or the energy or the patience for extensive engagement, but as difficult as it can be, reaching out to someone we disagree with is an option that is available to all of us." - Megan Phelps-Roper, TED talk
Most of my time is spent answering questions of editors on the technical Village Pump, maintaining the site specific Javascript and CSS, working on templates and doing administrative work with regard to images (moving, deleting etc). I also do a lot of work with various User scripts and Gadgets. My article interests are with topics regarding space and the Netherlands. I'm an occasional author for The Signpost.

Instead I started to focus on tech related work inside the encyclopedia and I eventually became an administrator. I really enjoyed myself for a while, but the ugly side of the community was starting to rear its head ever more in this niche tech part of the encyclopedia as well, and I did not feel supported by fellow administrators (actually many of the people that annoyed me were actually administrators themselves) to rein in these sentiments. I handed in my administrative tools for that reason, because I no longer felt that I wanted to be part of this.
