Universal Wireless Communication Co., Inc.

The Universal Wireless Communication Co., Inc. was an American telegraph company, based in Buffalo, New York from 1928 to 1930.

The firm was authorized by the Federal Radio Commission to create the first nationwide telegraph message system. The company was incorporated under Delaware laws in August 1928. The Federal Radio Commission authorized the construction of two 10,000 watt stations in New York City and Chicago, Illinois, to experiment on three shortwave channels.

The corporation filed an involuntary bankruptcy petition in Federal District Court in Chicago. It was sued for US$10,000 by the Dubilier Condenser Co., and by the Radio Corporation of America. The latter alleged that the Universal Wireless Communication Co., Inc. had violated five of its basic patents. It ceased operations in June 1930.
