The United States presidential election in the New Hampshire, 1856 took place in order to select the New Hampshire's 5 electoral votes for President of the United States. Former California Senator John C. Frémont won New Hampshire by a narrow vote margin of less than 6,000 votes. He would go on to lose nationally to former United States Minister to the United Kingdom James Buchanan.
