Uma Padmanabhan is a Tamil socialite, television and film actress and TV anchor.

Uma Padmanabhan had her early education in Chennai born on 1965 and had graduated in commerce from SIET, Nandanam. When SUN TV was founded in 1993, she applied for the job of a compere in the channel. After serving as a news reader for a short time, Uma was chosen to host the programme Vanakkam Tamizhagam. She has also acted in Tamil TV serials like Veetukku Veedu Looty and hosted TV programmes like Chellame Chellam and Oru Thaayin Sabatham.
