The Field Elm cultivar Ulmus minor 'Pendula' was listed by C. de Vos [1] in Handboek 20, 1887, as Ulmus sativa pendula, and much later by Boom [2] in Nederlandse Dendrologie 1: 158, 1959, as a cultivar.
The tree has slender pendulous branches.
'Pendula' is susceptible to Dutch elm disease.
Raised in Belgium in 1863, the young twigs are prone to dieback in hard winters. 'Pendula' is not known to have been introduced to North America.
