Tyabb Airport (ICAO: YTYA) is a small regional airport located just west of the town of Tyabb on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Tyabb is the site of the Tyabb Air Show, which is held every two years.
Peninsula Aero Club, (PAC), administers the privately owned facilities at Mornington Peninsula Airport, Tyabb, Victoria, more commonly just known as Tyabb Airport.
Known for the large collection of warbirds, and unique or antique aircraft, it is also the venue for airshow, held every two years, which is becoming internationally recognized.
PAC was the first aero club in Australia to own its own airport, which it purchased in 1978.
The Club formed 1964 and member Bill Vowell recognised the need for a medical service connecting Mornington Peninsula with city based hospitals. He established the Angel of Mercy Helicopter Service, the world’s first fully equipped helicopter air ambulance. In 1972 the Victorian Ambulance Service signed a contract for the exclusive lease of the helicopter, which became the forerunner of the current air ambulance.
The Club operates a successful flying school 7 days a week offering both RAA and GA instruction from ab-initio to instructor ratings.
