Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 is a side-scrolling platform video game developed & published by Krome Studiosand is the fourth installment in the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series. It is the only game in the series to have 2D platforming rather than exploring three-dimensional environments like previous installments. It is also the only game in the series not to have a physical release. The game was originally released on Xbox Games for Windows 8 PC & Tablets titled simply, "Ty the Tasmanian Tiger," on July 24, 2013. It was then ported as Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 and released on Steam on September 17, 2015.
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 retains various elements from prior game in the series. The gameplay has shifted towards a 2-dimensional side-scroller style spanning over 40 levels. The player gets to play as multiple characters from the Bush Rescue team, including Ty, as they travel through the various areas in Burramudgee.
After saving Southern Rivers from catastrophe in previous adventures, Ty and the Bush Rescue team has now regrouped and relocated their headquarters to the town of Coolarangah on the shores of Lake Burramudgee to continue to help people in need. Recently, their old cassowary nemesis named Boss Cass set up a resort island named "Cassablanca," which leads into series of strange occurrences including a shadowy figure lurking around the town.
