Trump resistance

The Trump resistance is a political effort to push back against the politics of U.S. President Donald Trump. This has included fielding more Democratic challengers than usual (including a large number of female candidates), lobbying representatives, creating a Trump resistance fund, and holding protests against Donald Trump. The Trump resistance is motivated by, e.g., opposition to his stances on immigration, the environment, women's rights, gun control, LGBTQ rights, and civil liberties. The grassroots nature of the movement has drawn comparisons to the Tea Party movement. Some victories that have been claimed by the Trump resistance include blocking the Muslim ban in the courts, and blocking Trumpcare in Congress. Trump resisters believe support for Trump is weak, inasmuch as he was able to win because people voted against Hillary Clinton rather than for him.
