Tornabenea insularis is a species of flowers that belong to the Apiaceae family. The species are endemic in Cape Verde. The genre Tornabenea has seven other endemic plants throughout the archipelago. The species was named by Filippo Parlatore in 1850 and was first of the species.

Its local name is called funcho or fruncho

Tornabenea insularis are founded in the island of Santo Antão in the mountainous areas including Pico da Cruz-Ribeira do Paul-Cova, Lombo do Mar-Ribeira do Alto Mira and Topo de Coroa.
