Tim Chantarangsu (Thai: ทิม จันทรางศุ; rtgs: Thim Chantharangsu; born March 6, 1986), known professionally as Timothy DeLaGhetto and formerly Traphik, is an American rapper, comedian, actor, and internet personality. Aside from rapping, he produces and acts in comedy videos which are uploaded to his YouTube channel. He is currently a cast member on the improv comedy show Wild 'N Out, on MTV and MTV2.
Tim Chantarangsu was born in Billings, Montana to parents of Thai heritage. His legal first name is "Tim"; it is not an abbreviation for "Timothy". He was raised in Long Beach, California until the age of nine, and later moved to the city of Paramount, where his parents opened a Thai food restaurant. He attended Paramount High School and went on to attend California State University, Long Beach, but eventually dropped out in order to pursue an entertainment career. In 2011 DeLaGhetto was fired from his job a California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach for tweeting that their new uniforms were "lame". As a child, Chantarangsu developed a business plan modeled after Will Smith, which he called the "Fresh Prince Format"; the plan outlined three career objectives: get a record deal, a television show, and a movie deal.
Chantarangsu's main YouTube channel has over 3 million subscribers and over 600 million video views as of September 6, 2016[update]. It features original skits, parodies, rants, and a series called Dear DeLaGhetto. His most popular video has over 78 million views. Chantaransgu also has a vlog channel, a music channel, and a style channel.
