Thrive Records is a United States based independent electronic record label. It also operates as a part of ThriveDance label. In 1998, the record label was already growing into a huge success after the release of the soundtrack to Darren Arononfsky's award winning independent film Pi, and the DJ Mix Series Global Underground. Thrive has also released soundtracks for films such as Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Swordfish, Irreversible, and many more. Thrive has also dabbled in alternative music, after signing Foo Fighter's drummer, Taylor Hawkins and his solo band, The Coattail Riders.

Thrive Records was founded in 1997 by Electronic music trailblazer Ricardo Vinas, as a joint venture with Sire/Warner Bros. Records—the label founded by legendary A&R man Seymour Stein. – Vinas credits Stein as the most influential mentor in his career, having worked closely with the revered record executive responsible for discovering Madonna, The Ramones, and Talking Heads, during the first four years of Thrive.

Thrive hit the ground running with the release of the soundtrack album for the most talked about independent film of 1998, Darren Aronofsky’s Pi, and launching the premiere DJ mix series, Global Underground. The upstart label almost immediately had in its roster some of the most up and coming artists in Electronic music, including among others, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, and Deep Dish. Thrive is credited with launching the US career of superstar DJ/Producer Paul Oakenfold—Oakenfold’s Gold certified album, Another World, is the top selling DJ mix series ever released in America, and Thrive’s best selling album to date. Vinas was instrumental in the development of Oakenfold’s career in the US, A&R’ing Paul’s two artist albums, Bunkka, and A Lively Mind, and distributing Oakenfold’s label Perfecto Records for many years. Paul Oakenfold received a 2006 Grammy nomination for his Thrive Records album, Creamfields.

Deep Dish also delivered its Grammy nominated and most successful album to date, George Is On, during their time at Thrive. George Is On, spun Deep Dish’s biggest selling singles, Flashdance and Say Hello. Thrive’s artist roster has included the critically acclaimed Roni Size, A-Trak, former Underworld member Darren Emerson, Mark Ronson, Duck Sauce, Sander Kleinenberg, Josh Wink, Ferry Corsten, and Steve Aoki, among many others. Aoki’s Thrive/Dim Mak single, I’m In The House featuring will.i.am, is Aoki’s only Top 40 radio crossover single.

Since its inception, Thrive has been very active in the film soundtrack arena. In addition to Pi, winner of the 1998 Sundance Film Festival Best Director Award, Thrive has released the soundtrack albums for the Oscar nominated and highly acclaimed Christopher Nolan film, Memento, the groundbreaking Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem For a Dream, Paul Oakenfold’s Swordfish, James Foley’s Confidence, Gaspar Noe’s Irreversible, (Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter first scoring effort), Austin Chick’s XX XY, and the Tom Cruise produced, Shattered Glass.
