Those Mockingbirds are an American band from Montclair, New Jersey, consisting of Adam Bird (vocals, Kyle Walters (guitar), and Kevin Walters (drums, vocals, percussion). They released their first studio recording, No Symmetry, on their own label L.E. Records with distribution from SideCho Records in April 2010. The release was produced by Those Mockingbirds & Tom Beaujour (Nada Surf, Phoenix) former Editor-in-Chief of Revolver Magazine, and recorded at Nuthouse Studio & White Heat Studio.No Symmetry debuted at No. 1 on Amazon's Movers & Shakers Chart. Also in April 2010 a video was released indicating Those Mockingbirds had kidnapped the Numa Numa guy for a ransom of 50,000 song downloads of their single "Honest? Honest." The music video for No Symmetry's single, "Honest? Honest" was released later that year followed by a fan made video for "We Are The Antidote."
The next single Those Mockingbirds released was a studio cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" in January 2011. The cover was recorded by Shawn Kimon (Arctic Monkeys, The Hold Steady, Cobra Starship) and produced by Those Mockingbirds at The Wild Arctic in Queens, NYC, NY. A month later Those Mockingbirds filmed a Fearless Music session for Fox 5.
On May 6, 2011, during a show at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, New Jersey with Smoking Popes and Girl In A Coma, Those Mockingbirds released 50 Limited Edition CD's of BETA: alpha, a self-released 3 song set that was only available at that show. Tracks include an acoustic remake of "We Are The Antidote," "The Bloodiest Gums," and a cover of The Nico Blues's "Living Proof." All tracks were produced by Those Mockingbirds and recorded by drummer Kevin Walters.
