Thomas Iain Abercrombie (born 5 July 1987) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for Büyükçekmece Basketbol of the Turkish Super League.
Abercrombie captained the Westlake Boys High School to the national secondary schools basketball title in his senior year, averaging 20.5 points, 11 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game, while being named NZ Academy of Sport High Performance Player for the second successive year. He won the WBHS Trophy for Academic and Sporting Excellence in 2002 and 2004.
In 2006, Abercrombie moved to the United States to attend Washington State University. However, in 2006–07, he did not play for the Cougars. In 2007–08, he played 12 games, averaging 1.2 points and 1.5 rebounds per game. Following the 2007–08 season, he returned to New Zealand.
In June 2008, Abercrombie signed with the New Zealand Breakers as a development player for the 2008–09 NBL season. He went on to help the Breakers win three consecutive NBL championships between 2011 and 2013 while earning the NBL Grand Final Most Valuable Player Award in 2011. Abercrombie won his fourth NBL championship in 2014–15, leading the Breakers alongside imports Cedric Jackson and Ekene Ibekwe.
On 27 May 2015, Abercrombie re-signed with the Breakers on a three-year deal.
On 20 December 2016, Abercrombie was ruled out for four to six weeks with a right hand fracture, his first major injury as a professional.
In September 2008, Abercrombie signed with the Waikato Pistons for the 2009 New Zealand NBL season. As a rookie, he led the Pistons to their fourth championship and earned Rookie of the Year and All-Star Five honours. The following year, he earned All-Star Five honours again and helped the Pistons return to the grand final, where they were defeated by the Wellington Saints. In 2011, he was named to the All-Star Five for the third consecutive year.
