Released by Columbia Records on August 13, 1976, This Is Niecy was produced by Charles Stepney and Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White. This Is Niecy has been certified gold in the United States by the RIAA and silver in the UK by the British Phonographic Industry. This album should not be confused with her 1982 album, Niecy.
The album went to number 3 and number 33 on the Black and Pop album Charts respectively. The single Free reached number 25 on the US pop singles chart, number 2 on the R&B singles chart and number 1 on the UK singles chart. T
