These Are the Days was a 30-minute Saturday morning animated series produced by the Hanna-Barbera studios and broadcast on ABC from September 7, 1974, to September 27, 1975. The series, although critically acclaimed, only lasted 16 episodes. Each episode had a run time of 30 minutes. The show ran in a similar fashion to the popular television series The Waltons. Along with Devlin, it was also one of the very few dramatic programs to be produced by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, known primarily for slapstick comedies and action-adventure cartoons. Warner Bros. owns the rights to all three shows, having acquired Lorimar Productions (which produced The Waltons) and Hanna-Barbera Productions.
Set at the turn of the 20th century in an old town called Elmsville, it portrayed the everyday lives of the Day family, which consisted of a widow, her three children and her father. Various family members and their interaction with friends and neighbors, usually ending with a lesson learned.
There has yet to be a DVD of the complete series from Warner Archive.
