The Solution is a collaboration album by Boot Camp Clik member Buckshot and 9th Wonder (of Little Brother). It was released on November 13, 2012 through Duck Down Records. This is third full-length collaboration between the two following up from their second album The Formula in 2008. The first single from the album was "The Change Up". The video was released on YouTube and was directed by Kenneth Price. Another video was released for the song "Shorty Left" (featuring Rapsody).
The Solution was met with generally favorable reviews from music critics. Jesse Fairfax of HipHopDX gave the album three and a half stars out of five, saying "The album is full of fiery conviction as the rapper steadily defies irrelevance finding harmony with 9th Wonder's trademark soul sound. Telling his fabled story of survival within the industry and streets, "What I Gotta Say," "Crazy," and "Keep It Going" all convey a wisdom removed from ego and false pretense as Buckshot is ever grateful for the opportunity to still be heard." Bogar Alonso of XXL gave the album an XL, saying "Over the course of three albums, two hip-hop troubadours have perfected a formula that is far from formulaic, and that captures both of their talents. Some people would call that a solution, 9th Wonder & Buckshot call it a day’s work."
The album debuted at number 196 on the US Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 2,300 copies in the United States.
