The Projection Booth is a weekly podcast discussing films from a wide variety of genres with in-depth critical analysis. It is hosted by Mike White and Rob St. Mary. The show has hosted interviews with cinematic luminaries like Bruce Dern, Dolph Lundgren, William Friedkin, Ellen Burstyn and Luke Wilson.

Each show contains a discussion of a single main film. Sometimes other films that compliment or contrast the main topic are discussed. When possible, guest co-hosts and/or guest interviews are included. Guest co-hosts often include other podcast hosts, authors, or people with particular insights on a given film or topic. The hosts of The Projection Booth try to gather as many guest interviews as possible who have direct knowledge of the film or topic at hand. These often include the writers or directors of the movie being discussed.

Like the fights in Fight Club, shows go on as long as they have to. Some episodes are less than an hour while others have stretched to up to seven hours. It all depends on the topic at hand and the number of interviews available.

Some of the show's most popular episodes include shows on The Magnificent Ambersons, Conan the Barbarian and Blow Out

While covering a wide array of films, the show has been criticized for occasionally dedicating episodes to obscure films not currently available on DVD.

The podcast started when the original hosts, Mike White and Justin Bozung, were driving from Detroit to the 2010 B Movie Celebration in Franklin, Indiana and discussing their favorite, and least favorite, film podcasts.

Justin Bozung left the show after the Hickey & Boggs episode. After a series of guest co-hosts, including Rob St. Mary, White offered St. Mary the guest co-host position. His first full-time show was the February 29, 2012 episode, Frankenhooker.

The Projection Booth's rainbow logo was created by filmmaker John Paizs.

The Projection Booth's website banner was created by Chicago artist Mitch O'Connell.
