The Pentecostal Alliance of Independent Churches (Pingst - fria församlingar i samverkan, Pingst FFS) is the largest Pentecostal organisation in Sweden. Formed in 2001, it is a voluntary organisation consisting of 377 of Sweden's Pentecostal churches, with a total of 81,000 members.
Daniel Alm from Västerås is General Superintendent since 2016, preceded by Pelle Hörnmark, and before him, Sten-Gunnar Hedin.
The nationwide organisation Pingst FFS is a member of the Pentecostal European Fellowship and the Pentecostal World Fellowship.
About 310 of the national organisation's churches are also members of the Swedish Pentecostal denomination Pingst FFS, which is separate from the alliance itself.
This structure is rooted in a belief within the Pentecostal movement in Sweden that churches should be independent and not part of any denomination, a view insisted on by the founder, Lewi Pethrus, which only changed in the early 2000s. Reasons for that change included a certain fear that churches with no previous affiliation with the Swedish Pentecostal movement would register a church with names such as the Pentecostal Church or anything to that effect.
