Birmingham News is a local television news and current affairs programme, covering the Birmingham, Black Country and Solihull areas, produced by Made in Birmingham. The programme airs twice nightly on weekdays and broadcasts from studios at The Goldmine Centre in Walsall.
Birmingham News covers stories from Made in Birmingham's broadcast area of Birmingham, the Black Country and Solihull. The programme first aired as The Midland on the opening night of Big Centre TV on Saturday 28 February 2015, before relaunching as Big News on Monday 4 April 2016. Following the sale of Big Centre TV to Made Television, the station's news operation was overhauled and relaunched as Birmingham News on Tuesday 8 November 2016.
As of May 2017, two half-hour programmes air each weekday at 6pm and 8pm, with an hour-long review programme, Weekend Magazine, airing at 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Birmingham News is presented each weeknight by Mike Prince with videojournalists Olivia Marks, Aaron Wiggins and Norman Bartlam and sports correspondents Gary James and James Brackpool.
The programme's former presenters include Bob Hall (formerly of ITV Central), producer Jennifer Meierhans (now at BBC Midlands), Lois Swinnerton, Monika Plaha, Roshni Patel and Marverine Cole.
