The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection is a 2012 novel by Alexander McCall Smith and the thirteenth installment in the The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series.
Precious Ramotswe has a lot on her hands. Not only is she dreaming of an unknown man under an acacia tree, but her friends are all experiencing difficulties in their lives and Precious has to try to find a way to help them all. Yet no one is more surprised than Precious when the stranger from her dreams appears and ends up being Clovis Andersen, the author of The Principles of Private Detection. Together with her friends and Clovis, Precious must correct all that is going wrong in everyone's lives.
Critical reception for The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection has been mostly positive. The Guardian's Philip Womack wrote, "It is all but impossible to criticise this novel; that would be like kicking a slightly senile labrador that always retrieves a ball when you throw it, whether you like it or not."
