The Fairly OddParents shorts


The Fairly OddParents is a series of 10 shorts that aired as animated sketches in the Nickelodeon series Oh Yeah! Cartoons from 1998 to 2001. On March 30, 2001, a week after the shorts concluded in Oh Yeah! Cartoons, a full spin-off series of the same name premiered on Nickelodeon.

Timmy Turner was voiced by Mary Kay Bergman in these shorts. Unlike the main series, these shorts were animated in cel animation. the pilot was made in 1996.

10-year-old Timmy Turner is left alone by his parents with a cruel babysitter, Vicky. After being sent to his room early, beaten and miserable from Vicky's treatment, Timmy throws his Magic 9-Ball against the wall in frustration. The 9-ball breaks, and from it emerge two Fairy Godparents named Cosmo and Wanda, a fairy couple who can grant nearly anything Timmy wishes for, and they help Timmy retaliate against Vicky.

Timmy has been invited to Tootie's birthday party, but has to take Cosmo and Wanda along because the former has the fairy flu and he cannot leave them unattended at his house. Unfortunately, Cosmo's constant sneezing wreaks havoc upon Tootie, Vicky, the party guests and Timmy himself. Things appear to be at their worst when Wanda becomes sick and begins sneezing as well—until Timmy and Tootie manage to feed them sauerkraut.

Timmy Turner gets a substitute godparent while Cosmo and Wanda are at boot camp, but the substitute, Jeff, can only make toys; it turns out that Jeff is a runaway elf from the North Pole.

For one day in a certain number of years, a fairy godparent has to be "bad," and it is Cosmo's turn to do so. However, the only problem is that he fails constantly at being "bad." Timmy and Wanda try to help him and enlist in the help of the conqueror Genghis Khan to teach him how to be bad, but soon, Cosmo has a plan to blow up the earth.
