The Cordish Companies (previously The Cordish Company) is a United States-based real estate development and entertainment operating company based in Baltimore, Maryland. The company is headquartered on the 6th floor of the Pratt Street Power Plant in Baltimore. The Cordish Companies primarily develops and operates commercial real estate developments, entertainment districts, gaming, hotels, international development, private equity, residential, restaurants and sports-anchored districts. The Company owns and manages over 40 million square feet of commercial, hotel, and residential development.
The Cordish Companies has been awarded seven Urban Land Institute(ULI) Awards for Excellence.
It was founded in 1910 by Louis Cordish. In 1933, his son Paul L. Cordish joined the business and was an active participant for 70 years; in 1968, Paul’s son David S. Cordish joined the firm. David S. Cordish currently serves as the company's chairman and CEO. As of 2016, all three of David’s sons, Jonathan, Blake, and Reed, serve as Principals of The Cordish Companies.
