The Biggest Loser: Couples 2 is the seventh season of the NBC reality television series The Biggest Loser. The premiere begins with Jillian and Bob berating and scolding the nation for how fat the population has become, criticizing the home viewers' lazy habits, telling them to change their ways, and telling them that this program will not mean anything if the home viewers are just going to sit on the couch and eat ice cream while watching this show.
Eleven new couples arrive at the ranch. Season 7 featured several new records – the oldest couple (Jerry and Estella, each age 63), the youngest man (Mike, age 18), the heaviest female (Carla, 379 lbs/172 kg), the heaviest male/contestant (Daniel, 454 lbs/206 kg), and the most 400+-pound contestants (three) in American Biggest Loser history. The average age of the contestants is 34; they take a total of 45 different medications, making them both the sickest and the heaviest group of contestants to date.
Before they meet trainers Bob and Jillian, the contestants are told to do the first workout on their own in the gym. Meanwhile, the trainers are watching the contestants on closed-circuit television. During this self-led workout, Jerry (White) passes out and is taken to the hospital. He is later released from the hospital after being told he had a fainting spell caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure.
Bob and Jillian each chose one team to work with, and then each team in turn picks the next team to join them, except for the final unchosen team, Purple, which gets to make its own choice. They choose as follows in this order:
