Indications for use include norepinephrine-resistant septic shock and hepatorenal syndrome. In addition, it is used to treat bleeding esophageal varices.

Terlipressin is currently not available in the United States, or Canada, but it is available in New Zealand, Australia, much of Europe, India & UAE.

Terlipressin must not be used during pregnancy.
