Tehran's Metro system is planned to consist of a total of eight lines; 7 lines (Lines 1–5 & 7-8), five of which are metro-service lines (Lines 1–4 & 7), are currently operational. Lines 1 and 2 cross each other at Imam Khomeini station. Line 5 is a suburban rail line that attaches to the Line 2 at the Tehran (Sadeghieh) station; it extends into the Karaj area and is connected to the rail line of city of Karaj & line 8 is a metro express
Line 1 consists of 29 stations.
Line 2 consists of 22 stations.
Tehran Metro Line 3 consist of 23 active stations.
Line 4 consists of 22 operating stations.
Line 5 is a suburban rail line that consists of 11 stations.
Line 6 is a line that consists of 31 (0 active) stations.
Line 7 is a line which consists of 23 stations. (Nowadays, temporally deactivated due some technical and safety problems)
Line 8 has 5 (3 active) stations
