The Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens (TEI ATH; Greek: Ανώτατο Τεχνολογικό Εκπαιδευτικό Ίδρυμα Αθήνας) is a higher-educational institute supervised by the Minister of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs. It is the third largest Institution of Higher Education in Greece, with approximately 35.000 students, a regular faculty of 600 and a temporary faculty of 1700 academics. The Technological Educational Institute of Athens offers undergraduates and postgraduates studies.

On 1st October 2016 it was announced that TEI of Athens will be transformed into the Athens University of Applied Sciences (Πανεπιστήμιο Εφαρμοσμένων Επιστημών Αθήνας).

The institute was one of the five first KATE's (Centers for Higher Technical Education) founded in Greece in 1974 in order to offer non-university technical programmes. In 1983, Technological Educational Institutes were established as self-governed, multi-disciplinary, technology-oriented state funded institutions and are equal to the Greek universities.

Located in Aegaleo municipality, western Attica, the campus is occupying an extended area, comprising the central administrative services and most of the facilities.

TEI of Athens offers more than 35 degrees ranging from Management and Economics to Applied Sciences and Engineering. The language of instruction and coursework is Greek, but some courses are also offered in English.

The departments are organized in 5 faculties – Technological Applications, Health and Caring Professions, Fine Arts and Design, Food Technology & Nutrition and Management & Economics.

An external evaluation of all academic departments in Greek universities will be conducted by the Hellenic Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (HQAA) in the following years.
