Tantum is a small settlement located in the southwest corner of the island Brava, Cape Verde. It is one of the southernmost settlements in Cape Verde. It is situated in the mountains near the south coast, 6 km southwest of the island capital Nova Sintra.
It is being the southernmost place in all of Cape Verde after nearby Cachaço by about 250 meters.
At a small point 2.5 km southeast of the settlement, it is the closest point in Cape Verde to Brazil and the New World mainland which is 2,504 km SSW at Touros, Rio Grande do Norte and is about 1,604 km nearly south to the tiny islets of the Saint Peter and Saint Paul Archipelago.
