Tallest structure

The tallest structure in the world is the Burj Khalifa skyscraper at 829.8 m (2,722 ft). Listed are the tallest structures in the world, such as television broadcasting masts, tower-type structures (such as the CN Tower), high-rise buildings (such as the Willis Tower), oil platforms, electrical towers, bridge towers, etc. This list is organized by absolute height. See also List of tallest buildings and structures in the world, List of tallest freestanding structures in the world and List of tallest buildings in the world.

This list includes guyed masts, commonly used on sailing ships as support for sails, or on land as radio masts to support telecommunications equipment such as radio antennas aka "aerials".

Outside the electronics industry there is often ambiguity between the terms tower and mast. A tower is a self-supporting or cantilevered structure, while a mast is stabilised by stays or guys. Both broadcasting towers and masts provide limited occupied floor space and are non-building structures, as opposed to regular buildings which have greater floor space for occupancy.
