Taholah is a census-designated place (CDP) on the Quinault Indian Reservation, in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. Named for a Quinault chief in 1905, its population was 824 at the 2000 census. The headquarters for the Quinault Indian Nation was moved to Taholah from the town of Quinault on the shore of Lake Quinault.
Taholah is located at 47°20′44″N 124°17′16″W / 47.34556°N 124.28778°W (47.345610, -124.287767).
The Quinault River empties into the Pacific Ocean on the northern edge of Taholah.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.3 km²), of which, 1.7 square miles (4.4 km²) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.9 km²) of it (17.16%) is water.
The climate in this area has mild differences between highs and lows, and there is adequate rainfall year-round. According to the Köppen Climate Classification system, Taholah has a marine west coast climate, abbreviated "Cfb" on climate maps.
As of the census of 2000, there were 824 people, 240 households, and 197 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 485.7 people per square mile (187.1/km²). There were 249 housing units at an average density of 146.8/sq mi (56.6/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 4.85% White, 93.20% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.73% from other races, and 1.09% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.46% of the population.
