Susan C. Fargo is the Massachusetts State Senator for the 3rd Middlesex district, which includes her hometown of Lincoln and eight other towns. She is a Democrat who has served since 1997. (Before 2003 she represented the Fifth Middlesex district.) Prior to serving in the Massachusetts legislature, she was a public management professional who served on the Lincoln board of selectmen and the Middlesex executive committee.
Fargo currently co-chairs the Committee on Public Health, and is known for her push to ban smoking in the workplace and enact tax credits for senior citizens.
On February 10, 2012, Fargo announced that she would not seek a ninth term.
