Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers, alternatively subtitled Survivor: Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers, is the 35th season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. This season featured 18 new players divided into three tribes based on a dominant perceived trait: "Heroes" (courage), "Healers" (compassion), and "Hustlers" (tenacity). This was the fourth season of the show filmed in Fiji, following Survivor: Fiji, Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X, and Survivor: Game Changers.
This season went back to the pre-Game Changers tie-breaker format, wherein re-votes still would occur in case of a dead-locked tie before it went to open deliberation and then rocks. This season also featured multiple advantages that were hidden during various rewards. These advantages were to be used at the following Tribal Council, whether or not the contestant who found it was required to attend. In this case, the contestant would anonymously gift it to someone who was to attend Tribal Council, for them to open just before leaving. Also, the final four Tribal Council format was changed such that, in lieu of a vote, the immunity winner would select two competitors to compete in a fire-making challenge in which the loser gets eliminated, and thus sent to the jury.
The season premiered on September 27, 2017, and ended on December 20, 2017, when Ben Driebergen was named the winner over Chrissy Hofbeck and Ryan Ulrich in a 5–2–1 vote.
The entire cast was officially announced on August 30, 2017. The cast is composed of 18 new players, initially split into three tribes containing six members each; Levu ("Heroes"), Soko ("Healers"), and Yawa ("Hustlers").
The 18 players were initially divided into three tribes: Levu (Heroes), Soko (Healers), and Yawa (Hustlers). Yawa went to Tribal Council twice. Despite losing only one member, Levu was dysfunctional due to paranoia while Soko was undefeated. Following a tribe switch, former Yawa member Ryan found himself in a swing vote position on the new Soko tribe, and ultimately decided to flip on his close ally Ali, and align with former Levu tribe member Chrissy.
When the tribes merged, the former Heroes and Hustlers aligned to eliminate the remaining Healers. This alliance of 7 controlled the first few votes, but it eventually splintered as a final four alliance of Lauren, Ben, Ashley and Devon was formed. This alliance also splintered as Ben soon became the main target for being the biggest threat. However, Ben managed to successfully play three hidden immunity idols to reach the final 4 along with Chrissy, Ryan and Devon. When Chrissy won the final immunity challenge, she had to choose one castaway to take to the final 3 which would force the remaining two to compete against each other in a firemaking tiebreaker challenge. She chose to save Ryan. Ben defeated Devon in the firemaking challenge to join Chrissy and Ryan in the finals.
