Suraj Ishola Adekunbi is a Nigerian business man, politician, member of APC and incumbent Speaker of the Ogun State House Of Assembly.
He was born in Ayetoro, a town in Ogun State southwestern Nigeria into the family of Alhaji Rahmon and Madam Elizabeth Adekunbi with 14 siblings.
He started his educational journey at St. Paul African Church Primary School, Ayetoro, Ogun state before he proceeded to Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro, Ogun State where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate in 1993. Thereafter, he proceeded to Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro to study Mechanical Engineering where he obtained his ordinary National Diploma in 1996 and proceeded to The Polytechnic, Ibadan for his Higher National Diploma. He later earned a Post-Graduate Diploma at Federal University of Technology Akure and also earned a Master's degree in Project Development and Implementation in 2011 at the University of Ibadan.
He started his career by working as a Project Assistant at Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) in Edo state during his National Youth Service Corps in year 2000. After his Youth Service, he took up the job to teach at Government Technical College, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta. He later joined the Ogun State Civil Service working in the Bureau of Transportation from year 2004 to 2006 before he later resigned to join his father company Al-Rahman Oil & Gas Limited.
