Sunbelt Publications, incorporated in 1988 with roots in the book business since 1973, publishes and distributes multi-language pictorials, natural science and outdoor guidebooks, regional references, and stories that celebrate the land and its people. The company is located in El Cajon,San Diego County, California, while sometimes being cited as in the city of San Diego.
Diana and Lowell Lindsay created Sunbelt Books based on their passion for the natural world. Diana Lindsay’s love for the desert began in 1966, when she “figuratively went into the desert and never came out”. The Anza-Borrego Desert was the subject for her master’s thesis from SDSU that was subsequently published as a book entitled “Our Historic Desert” by Copley Books (1973). She is a noted desert scholar and author.
Lowell Lindsay is the CEO of Sunbelt Publications. He majored in geology at UCLA and received his master's degree from West Texas A&M University in political science, specializing in environmental education. He is past president of the San Diego Association of Geologists (SDAG) and a board member of the national Association of Earth Science Editor (AESE). Lowell is a former naval aviator and wilderness training officer.
