Steve Marshall (born October 26, 1964) is the 48th Attorney General of Alabama, after being appointed by governor Robert J. Bentley to fill the vacancy caused by previous attorney general Luther Strange's appointment to the United States Senate. Prior to his role as attorney general, Marshall served as Marshall County district attorney for 16 years. Marshall will serve until January 2019, when Strange's original term expires.
