Steven Hanft is a film and video director.
Steven Hanft was born in Ventura, California where he started making films at age eleven.
He studied film at CalArts, where he made his first feature film, Kill the Moonlight.
Steven has directed several hit music videos, including the MTV award winner, Where It's At, by the artist known as Beck.
Steven released his second feature film- Southlander- a surreal adventure about an indi-rock keyboard player, in 2003. In 2011, he released his third feature film, a music documentary- Return of the Rub-a-Dub Style- about the original sound system reggae artists performing in Los Angeles. The film screened at Anthology Film Archive in New York, and Don't Knock the Rock Film Festival, in Los Angeles.
Recently, Steven directed music videos for Carmen Electra, and Prince Jazzbo.
