Stephen T. Liddle is a professor of chemistry at the University of Manchester. He is known for his work on the The Periodic Table of Videos, a series of videos from the University of Nottingham presented on YouTube, which feature educational vignettes on the periodic table. His laboratory research focuses on the chemical properties of lanthanides and actinides.

Liddle's research group was the first to synthesize a molecule with a uranium-nitrogen triple bond (e.g., uranium nitride), which has potential to lead to a more efficient way of synthesizing nuclear fuel.

In 2011 Liddle reported that his researchers at the University of Nottingham had developed a single-molecule magnet based on depleted uranium.

In 2011, the Royal Society of Chemistry awarded Liddle the Sir Edward Frankland Fellowship and the Bill Newton Award. In 2015, he received their Corday-Morgan Prize.
