According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 4.5 square miles (12 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,113 people, 439 households, and 320 families residing in the town. The population density was 249.0 people per square mile (96.1/km²). There were 459 housing units at an average density of 102.7 per square mile (39.6/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.47% White, 0.18% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.90% from other races, and 0.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.44% of the population.
There were 439 households out of which 33.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.8% were married couples living together, 7.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.1% were non-families. 24.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
